A quiet week as we needed a bit of a catch-up before another trip away. We started the week by going to see some friends across in Bath and having a little look at their new house. Then we mostly mooched around at home for the rest of the week. I met up with a friend mid-week and the best thing about these meet-ups is the talking, the fact that you are so busy just being present that you actually don’t end up taking any photos. Best kind of day.
Most notably this week I decided that after growing my hair long for nearly 3 years I wanted it short again. So I had the chop, it probably isn’t as short as I wanted but better to play it safe and not have regrets and I’ll go shorter next time. As it was a Saturday and we were in town we decided to treat ourselves to some lunch at For Mice and Men, the best-grilled cheese in Bristol FYI. The couple that runs it are super lovely as well. I also picked up some giant water jugs with a straw for use around the house. I’m making a conscious effort to drink more water this year and I find that for whatever reason straws help me drink more. They were a bargain £12 for two from TK Maxx.

The weekend was Eurovision, we always watch this and get involved by printing out the scoresheet. We tried to get tickets this year but it didn’t happen unfortunately. At least the booze was cheaper at home eh? We did however successfully this week get tickets for the Hamilton stage show tour coming to Bristol next year. I have wanted to see this in person for so long. I cannot wait.
On Saturday we went to Brickfest in Weston-super-Mare which was interesting. Honestly, it was a bit of a hot mess, far too many people in the hall for starters and it was mostly just resellers. There were a few displays that were pretty good but I felt it needed more information maybe. I dunno, some of the displays were really dusty as well, just a few small things that if improved could have made it a much more enjoyable experience. The plan was to go down to the seafront for an ice cream but the weather, in typical UK style rapidly changed from sunshine to grey and cold winds so we had some lunch in Brunello Lounge and headed home on the train. I have been enjoying these little trips further afield recently, I always forget how close Weston is on the train.
