Week 33. 2023

Week 33. 2023

The week started off strong with a fun little date night down at the local city farm. We booked a biscuit decorating class through Yuup, which by the way has some excellent and unusual experiences on there. I love that most of them are from real locals and you get to do something fun while supporting local businesses. The lady teaching us the decorating explained that she only got into the business about 3 years ago after seeing fun icing videos on TikTok. She’s incredibly talented and it was a really fun lesson. At the end she let us choose between going freestyle or following one of her designs. My husband followed and I freestyled my very own Taylor Swift butterfly. It’s a lot harder than it looks but we had fun and ended up with lots of tasty treats afterwards. I love how the Farm turns into a little community hub in the evening, the place was full of different groups coming in and out.

This week I have tried to get out and about a bit more, evening walks to see the sunset are fast becoming one of my favourite activities. There have been some absolute stunners including a beautiful candy floss sky one night after we walked back from Asda. Talking of Asda, the one reason I went there this week was to relive my childhood. Muller has brought back one of my favourite yoghurts, the Mississippi Mud Pie. Did I buy 4 of them? Yes, yes I did. I have no regrets. They are just as good as I remember. They are exclusive to Asda only which is great as this is the only large supermarket within walking for me. Like it was meant to be.

I have been semi-productive this week and finished two of my crafts from my massive pile of unfinished craft boxes. I finished two cross-stitch designs, one of which is actually a Christmas one but it’s done and come December I can put it out with the rest of my decorations. It’s only a small one but it turned out so cute. We also wall-mounted the new TV for the dining room. We have been taking a laptop in each evening to watch Youtube and the like during meal times but finally decided to add a more permanent screen in there. It’s perfect for when I iron and craft as well to have something to watch. I love it.

TV this week has included:

  • Only Murders in the Building on Disney+. Love, love, love.
  • Below Deck Down Under on Amazon. Addicted to all BD but Aisha has my heart.
  • The Bear on Disney+. This took a few episodes to get into but enjoying it.
  • The Vampire Diaries on Netflix. rewatching this from season one again.

Finally, been back on my Gousto kick again this week and got a few interesting meals to try. I’m so thankful to Gousto for increasing my palette and getting me to try new things. I’m slowly trying to introduce different foods into my diet again, for example, this week we had two meals with spinach. Previously spinach is a food I refused to eat but actually, it’s not that bad, is it? I ate it all in both meals. This week we had Harissa and Cheese Spanakopita Tart, Creamy Chicken and Tomato Pasta with garlic breadcrumbs and a Smokey Spanish Pepper and Pea Rice. I’m also finding that without even trying or thinking about it we are eating less meat. Im picking more and more meat-free meals and honestly don’t miss it. Look, I’m not giving meat up. Never but reducing it is a lot easier than I thought it would be.
