Is it only the second week in January? Trying not to wish time away, but this week has been rubbish with constant heavy rain and wind, and of course, the water found a way into the house. Eurgh. Trying to be positive though, I have managed to get out on my daily walks most days, and on Wednesday, when it was just awful weather I opted for a YouTube workout instead. I am starting to feel the benefits of these daily walks, giving me the much-needed motivation to keep it up. We have a few holidays coming up, and I want to be at my strongest and not let my knee hold me back from anything. I have also been feeling like, in general I have more energy. I wish it wasn’t as cold and wet each day while walking. The park is constantly flooded and muddy.
The weather forcing me inside has meant that I caught up on a few tasks. I finally completed one of my craft projects and moved on to a new one. My parents got me a fantastic punch needle kit for Christmas; it’s something I have wanted to try for a while. It’s enjoyable and slightly messy, but I think with practice and patience, it’s going to look incredible. It also gave me the opportunity for a mini wardrobe sort out and tidy up. My wardrobe is always so chaotic.

In terms of TV for the week, we finished White Lotus season 2. Such a good show. I also binged the new season of Witcher: Blood Origins. Mixed feelings on this one, it was alright, but I felt that maybe the characters were just a bit lacking? Also, what’s happening with Lenny Henry being in all the fantasy shows recently? First, it was Rings of Power and then Witcher. He was great in both roles but just unexpected.
The weekend was a fun one. We went to London on Saturday, specifically Canary Wharf to see a light festival which…well, wasn’t on. We booked the wrong dates for the trains. Still, it was a lovely night and adventure. We got to see some of the displays that had been set up early. Canary Wharf has massively changed since the Elizabeth Line opened. The new line comes into an area with loads of fun shops and places to eat. We snagged a table at The Breakfast Club for our tea; the food was immense and the cocktail so good. I could definitely eat Breakfast food all day; the best meal time.
Sunday was spent doing lots of little odd jobs out of the house. I had ordered some items in the sales at Christmas that I needed to pick up in town and from Asda. Also, rather excitingly, I had a £50 gift card for Harvey Nicholls that I needed to get from Cabot Circus from a competition they ran on Instagram. Not sure what I will spend it on yet, probably makeup!
Another good week but exhausted at the end. I pushed myself at the weekend and managed to walk about 13 miles combined over the two days. It might not be a lot for some but it’s a massive achievement for me.
Next week should be a quiet one. There is nothing on the calendar. I aim to keep up my daily walks and start the second phase of my online coding course.
