Week 17. 2023

Week 17. 2023

Following a very full weekend in Edinburgh, we needed some well-needed R&R. So this week we mostly relaxed, watched some TV and had a catch-up with our financial advisor.

The week also started to get sunny, we managed to get a washing load out in the garden to dry on the whirligig and get out for a few short walks. After the meeting with the financial advisor my life insurance policy has had a weighting put on it, a fat tax if you will because I am overweight. Determined not to let this send me into a depression spiral and make better choices instead such as snacking on more fruit, walking more and generally just being more active. Maybe this is the motivation I need to finally lose some weight and save some money.

We watched Yellowjackets, anyone else watched this? Consider me hooked, although annoyingly the first season was on NowTV which I had a subscription to but the second season is on Paramount Plus. The plan is that I will wait until the show has finished airing and then binge-watch on a free trial and hope that I avoid all spoilers until this point. We also have NowTV films and watched Nope and The Bad Guys this week. Both are great films, very different from each other I’m aware, but both are very watchable.

On the weekend we had a quick trip to Bath and I bought a few summery bits that were outside of my comfort range including a very lovely straw hat. This is actually the only photo I appear to have taken this week so enjoy. We ended by spending a small fortune on some more vinyl for the collection. HMV have some really good offers and we managed to find some Kelsea Ballerini albums on vinyl which I am so excited about.
