This week was just what the doctor ordered. We went to Longleat Centre Parcs from Monday-Friday, and it was perfect. I love it there. The idea of being in the countryside for a week but with access to some excellent food, the swimming pool, and the spa and oh, Id just go on and on. We coincided this trip with our 9th Wedding Anniversary and booked the twilight spa package to celebrate in style. It was perfect. The spa has a lovely outdoor pool and outdoor hot tubs, and I could have sat there all night. We got a takeaway pizza for tea and sat by the log fire in our PJs, and yeah, I loved it.
We enjoyed the rapids, the cycling, the falconry, the pottery painting, and did I mention the food? We ate out a few times, and a highlight was Las Iguanas. So tasty, and the service was much better than our previous visit. Oh wait, I just forgot the Pancake House. THIS was the highlight. So much so that after our first visit, we booked to go again later in the week!

We also got out on the lake this time and hired a double kayak, which was a lot of fun, although quite hard work in the wind. Our last night was spent playing Pool in the Sports Centre. I can’t wait to go back again and hope to book for sometime next year. We are thinking of trying a different location next time, but despite its giant hill, my heart will always belong to Longleat Centre Parcs.
The other thing about this trip was the wildlife we saw; as soon as we checked in a Muntjac Deer was outside and we saw him and his partner a few times over the week. We saw lots of squirrels, rabbits, and ducks.

The journey there and back was relatively easy although the train back was very full which I think was due to the impending train strikes the following day.
On the weekend I went to the new market on East Street called Eats. I think it was a one-off. It was okay. We went not long after lunch, and most places had sold out, and the places that had food left had mega queues. It seemed like there might have been a few street performers out at some point, but they all also looked like they were done for the day. Still, it was nice to see East Street so busy. Let’s hope there’s more like that in the future.
And that was my week.
