Week 28. 2023

After what felt like an eternity watching TikToks of Americans at Taylor Swift concerts it was finally time to buy tickets for the UK tour. To say I was stressed about this would be an understatement. The amount of sheer faff you had to do before even getting the option to buy tickets was insane. Thankfully I had thought ahead and used the No Purchase option for the Midnights Presale so had secured a presale code and if I hadn’t done this I wouldn’t have tickets. The general sale tickets were all done via pre-register and then people were randomly selected to be allowed tickets or not on sale day. So no actual guarantee of a ticket, just the guarantee that you can join a queue. Well, neither I nor the hubby got selected to buy tickets so thank god I had the Midnight’s Presale. I was ready to wait and sit for hours to get tickets, but what actually happened was that within 7 minutes of them being on sale I had purchased two tickets exactly where I wanted to sit. How the hell that happened I have no idea other than luck. Thank god. I can’t wait to see her next year at Wembley!

After a busy time last week with what felt like endless train journeys we took it pretty easy at home. I spent a few days deep cleaning the bathroom, played Zelda (obvs) and decorated my laptop case with some new stickers that I ordered. Not a total waste of a week, feeling pretty motivated at the moment. Shame it rained pretty much all week so all motivation was focused inside only.

It was the weekend of the Bristol Harbour Festival and sadly it rained the entire time. We held off going on Saturday because it was biblical levels but decided by Sunday that it wasn’t going to improve so we headed down. It rained on and off but wasn’t too heavy and we had brollies and raincoats so thankfully didn’t get too wet. We wanted to see some of the newer acts on the water. There was a performer on a jetski doing flips and stuff and also another guy on a FlyBoard. Both acts were great to see, the skill and talent it takes to do what they do is insane. We didn’t hang around for any of the other shows due to the rain but it was nice to get out for a short while. The Harbour Festival can be very hit-and-miss for me, some years it’s been too busy and too full of drunks and others, like this year a real washout. Still, it’s handy being within a 20-minute walk if we do decide to see some of the acts.
