Another week of 2023 is done. Let me tell you something, I am so fed up with Winter now. Where is the Spring weather? We got a brief glimpse of it later in the week but it’s not consistent enough to say Spring yet. This week I found myself standing in the garden soaking up the sunshine, which was bliss. I even had the neighbour’s cat come and visit me while I was getting those rays.
My Ikea delivery arrived this week, I ordered a few boxes for one of our new built-in cupboards and I’m pleased to say that they fit perfectly. One of the benefits of living in a town with an Ikea is the cheap delivery. It cost £4 and arrived within a couple of days. The bus to the store would have cost us more, and we didn’t have to worry about carrying many plastic boxes back on the bus. I next need to look at doing the same organisation for the cupboard under the TV. When we had all the work done, we decided on just building storage everywhere, and I now find myself wondering what to fill it with.
I got a rare treat this week and had a night to myself as my husband was away for a work thing. So I treated myself to a Mcdonald’s for tea. Really living the highlife over here! But in even more exciting news, I ordered 6 McNuggets but got 7. Nice little extra treat. I also had planned a night of films but got about 20 minutes into Fantastic Beasts: Secrets of Dumbledore and gave up. I think I need to return to the earlier films as I was watching and cannot remember any of the characters and the stories. I ended up watching Lost City instead, which was precisely what I thought it would be. A bit silly, a bit of action and a bit of romance, plus bonus Brad Pitt.
We had a mini night out on Friday in our local area. We went to the local city farm, which hosts drinks and food on Friday and Saturday nights. They have their own microbrewery called Bruhaha and have also teamed up with a local gin distillery to serve cocktails. It’s cute, we had a drink each then wandered to find the new pizza place. Bit of a mystery to get here as they haven’t posted much to social media, but we found them down a side alley, and it was worth the effort. Delicious pizza and the owner was so nice. He explained that as they are just starting up they hadn’t been posting much online as they didn’t have much seating etc yet. If you are local though I highly recommend it, and they are also on JustEat for those lazy nights in.
Saturday was a trip into town. We wanted to get a few bits sorted before our holiday. I did some shopping and a lot of walking but didn’t end up getting too much. However, we did enjoy a cheeky little Wagamamas for lunch and, did you know that they sell cocktails in there now? Well they do, and I highly recommend the Lychee Collins.
