This was the week that I also went slightly shorter with my hair again and this time it is perfect. It’s the right length of short so that it doesn’t curl on my shoulders anymore and feels so much more me. It’s amazing the difference a good haircut can do to your mood. Of course, this meant another Golden Hour walk home along the harbour, have I ever mentioned how much I love this city? 😛

Friday was an exciting day, bifold installation. Only took four months to get these installed but unfortunately, this did not go to plan. They called as they set off to confirm that one of the panels had shattered and that they would fit what they have and the other panel would be a few weeks (nice and vague). Overall they did a good job installing the doors, it was an awkward space to fit into but there are a few scratches and a few areas were left a bit messy. They make such a difference to the space and the dining room though, I’m totally in love and I’m sure they’ll be even better once actually finished. We choose to get the blinds in the glass as previously we had curtains and they blocked a lot of light out and felt quite bulky in the room. These blinds in the doors work perfectly for the space though. It makes the room feel a lot larger and we love throwing the doors all the way open.

The weekend was packed with all the good things and a perfect way to end what had started as an awful week. Firstly we met some friends in town for lunch at Honest Burger and it’s so nice to catch up, isn’t it? The burgers at this place are unreal, it’s always difficult to find somewhere we can all eat because one is celiac and another cannot eat onion. From here we went for a drink at Brozen which is somewhere I have wanted to visit for ages. They do frozen cocktails and on a hot day, it was perfect. I went for their Arctic Grasshopper which is a frozen, alcoholic mint choc chip. It was perfection.
Sunday was The Bristol Comedy Festival. We used to attend this annually until it moved to Clifton Downs and openair. It just wasn’t easy for us to travel to this part of town but this year it was back in the tent in Queens Square. Unfortunately, it was mega hot this day so the tent was sweltering and they really crammed people into this space. Personal space was not a thing. Thankfully I took my portable fan with me and I’m not sure I could have coped without this. It just breaks up the stale air and cools me down. Somehow also our seats were only about 5 rows back from the front, not sure how we managed to get so close but it was great. Far enough back to not be picked on but close enough to feel like it was a more intimate show. We ended the weekend with a quick visit to Pizza Express before walking back home. Bristol in summertime really comes alive, it feels such a happy place to be and always so much going on.
