Let’s talk TV

I love nothing more than sitting on the sofa and binge watching a TV show. My go-to places when looking for something to watch is generally Netflix, although one of my current all time favourite shows is only showing on Amazon. It’s called Outlander and is based on a series of books by Diana Gabaldon. It’s a show a love story about a lady from the 1940s who accidentally travels back in time to the 18th century where she falls in love with a Highlander. It is such a good show and every episode has me hooked even though I know what’s going to happen because I have read nearly all the books.

The show does stray from the books a bit, but this is great; it keeps you on your toes and lemme tell you that when Murtagh comes back in I have never felt so happy. That doesn’t happen in the books. I’m also really looking forward to seeing how they do the whole upcoming storyline with Brianna travelling back in time.

It all sounds totally ridiculous I know but there is something about it that makes me come back week after week, and it’s not just for Sam Heughan (although…phwoar!) I love the Scottish scenery and the accents, it reminds me of my childhood growing up in Scotland and that aspect of it is really comforting.

My current main binge watch show of the moment though is Heartland on Netflix. It’s a show about a ranch in Canada, watching the main character Amy grow up. There are a lot of horses in the show which I love but also I really enjoy the storylines. I started watching the show before I had realised how many episodes there were, but by that point I was addicted. I currently have watched nearly 11 seasons of the show in the last few months, I think I started it around September time. My aim was to be up to date before the new series starts next year. I am thankfully only a few episodes off so will be all set to go.

I have such a long list of what to watch next, I feel like everyone has an opinion on what I should be watching and I struggle to find time in the day to watch all the recommendations. It used to really bug me because I would feel like I was left out if I hadn’t seen the latest cool show but I have started to just focus on me and my interests now and, honestly, I feel so much better. I mean no one I know would have ever recommended Heartland but I love this show so much and I’m glad I gave it a try.

I have a couple bits of travelling coming up soon and can’t wait to download a new and exciting TV show to watch.
